IN LOVE WITH THE PALACE
Nada Al Hamalawy has been in love with the Cairo
Marriott since she was young. So the Gezira Palace
was the natural choice for her marriage celebration
to Mohamed El Beih – but the hotel also provided the
inspiration for Nada and Mohamed telling their love
story in a special way.
On a visit to the Marriott, Nada was impressed with
the info-graphic that traces the timeline of the hotel
from 1869 until the present day. Dazzled with the
idea, Nada decided to produce her own info-graphic
of how her relationship with Mohamed began in May
2010 and ended in marriage at the Gezira Palace of
the Cairo Marriott Hotel in November 2014.
Nada explains: “With our ‘big day’ coming I thought
an info-graphic would be lovely for us and for our
guests. It was a great surprise for Mohamed. I did it all
myself and it was a great delight to recount our story
every step of the way.”
Asked if she was especially excited to be holding her
wedding at the Palace, Nada answered: “Exactly! I
love the Palace and everything about it.” And there
are special reasons for that. “I had many lovely
memories of the Cairo Marriott as I grew up. As a kid
my family spent many lovely summer days there with
the ‘day use’ offers.
