What initiatives is Marriott International
introducing to Egypt?
#Activ8Egypt, this is our campaign that emphasizes our
further commitment to work with partners to revive
tourism in Egypt. Our hashtag addresses the young
dynamic society that is helping to shape Egypt’s future.
What are the objectives of this initiative?
Our objective is to both lead and support the revival
of tourism and associated industries, while engaging
key industry partners and government bodies
with the aim of bringing the country to its premier
destination of choice, across the business and leisure
travel segments.
Marriott’s #Activ8Egypt plan focuses on driving
significant incremental revenues through three
strategic pillars – the local, GCC and international
inbound tourism.
How will you achieve these aims?
Good question! How we will achieve this. Well, our
focus is to build and leverage the Marriott distribution
channels in conjunction with key global partners and
the Egyptian government.

What is the theme of the campaign?
The word MISR is how Egypt is pronounced in Arabic,
we built the whole concept using the letters of MISR
to describe what Egypt has to offer;
• M, Magnificent
• I, Inviting
• S, Sensational
• R, Rewarding
We are committed to #Activ8Egypt. Among other
avenues, our commitment will be through the
strength of our brands and global distribution of over
4,000 hotels, through our Marriott Rewards loyalty
program with over 47 million members, and through
Marriott.com, the world’s largest revenue generating
hotel booking website.
We will work together with our partners to bring back
the tourism industry to Egypt. That is our commitment.
