11 10 MA R R I O T T I N T E R N AT I ON A L HONORING OUR FAMILY OF HOSTS WITH ASSOCIATE APPRECIATION WEEK From June 9 th to 13 th 2019, the Cairo Marriott once again rolled out the red carpet in thanks to its dedicated team of hosts, for whom a comprehensive entertainment program was prepared in their honor. The weeklong event supports Marriott International’s five core values; Putting People First, Pursuing Excellence, Embracing Change, Acting With Integrity and Serving Our World. The first of these principles ensures that Marriott International extends the same level of care to its associates as it does to its valued guests worldwide. Taking care of associates is the gateway towards providing excellent care and maximum guest satisfaction, and through Associate Appreciation Week, all Marriott International hotels around the world celebrate their commitment and service to Marriott’s leading reputation in hospitality. This action-packed weeklong event was a fruitful opportunity for valued associates to connect, network, and partake in a thoughtful variety of fun activities and team building exercises. Entertainment included a Ping-Pong competition, foosball and more activities for our diverse team to spend quality time with one another and enjoy the festivities. There was also a live band performance arranged during their breaks at the associates’ restaurant where they were able to enjoy a themed menu offering a different world cuisine each day. For this, a schedule was made where each manager was assigned to serve for half an hour at least once or twice during the week, and all hotel managers happily participated in this. Representatives from the Human Resources department stopped by various areas of the hotel grounds to liven the mood with the spirit of Associate Appreciation Week, spreading happiness by distributing treats and prizes. Associates also took the opportunity to snap photos with their colleagues at the photo booth station provided. With the weeklong celebrations taking place in the midst of summer, two special trips were organized to the Nile Country Club for associates to spend time lounging by the pool and taking a dip to cool off in the heat, each of which was followed by a BBQ lunch party to end the day’s trip. Marriott International’s Associate Appreciation Week is geared towards teambuilding through showing genuine appreciation to all individuals working within the organization in all their diverse capacities. All Marriott properties globally shared their special moments during this week on social media using the #WeMakeMarriott hashtag. Stir-Fried Spicy Noodles Korat Style with Prawns Serving Size: 1 S AVO R Y D E L I G H T S PREPARATION: 1. In a mortar: pound garlic, shallot and red big dried chili into a paste. 2. In a wok: add vegetable oil and paste. Stir-fry until aroma develops, and then add prawns. 3. Add seasoning. 4. Add noodles. Stir-fry until the noodles are cooked. Then, add egg yolk. 5. Add bean sprouts and spring onion. Turn off the heat. 6. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot. INGREDIENTS 80gr Rice Noodles (soaked) 40gr Prawns 2 cloves Garlic 3 cloves (small) Shallot 1 tbsp. Beans Paste 1 pc. Red Big Dried Chili 20gr Vegetable Oil 60gr Bean Sprouts 1pc. Egg Yolk 2pc. Spring Onion SEASONING: 2 tbsp. Tamarind Juice 1 ½ gr Palm Sugar ½ tsp Soy Sauce ½ tbsp. Fish Sauce 25ml Coconut Milk
