22 Marriott International Unifies its Three Loyalty Programs for an Unparalleled Rewards Experience MA R R I O T T R EWA R D S At last, members of Marriott Rewards, The Ritz- Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest programs can now benefit from streamlining their accounts to allow for a travel experience unrivalled in scope and accessibility. This offers unbridled access for 110 million members to a unified set of benefits and singular currency. As part of its launch event the Cairo Marriott hosted a four-day promotional campaign on the hotel grounds. On August 18th the hotel celebrated the merge with guests. From August 18 th to 21 st Guest Relations encouraged guests to ask questions about the new program. The Cairo Marriott also employed digital screens, roll-ups and social media platforms around the hotel to promote the merge of the Loyalty Program. Achieve Elite Status Faster Aside from now being able to earn on average 20% more points per dollar spent and having Elite status recognized consistently at all participating hotels, members can now enjoy the added convenience of booking stays throughout the portfolio on the hotel websites, apps or by contacting customer engagement centers. David Flueck, Senior Vice President, Global Loyalty for Marriott International expressed that “we merged the incredible earning and redeeming power of Marriott Rewards with the phenomenal Elite benefits of SPG to create one of the richest travel loyalty programs on offer.” Unified Currency & Free Night Award Now with the unified currency, members can combine their balances ending the need to transfer points between programs. SPG members will have their balances multiplied by three, and all members earn 10 points for every dollar spent at all brands except a few of the smaller brands. Silver Elite status can now be achieved after just 10 nights annually, Gold after 25, Platinum Elite after 50 and Platinum Premier Elite after 75 nights. Marriott International is also introducing a new Free Night Award chart for redemptions across the entire loyalty portfolio. More Travel and New Benefits With a more holistic and all encompassing travel experience than ever before, members now can enjoy access to the wide collection of nearly 120,000 irresistible experiences in 1,000 global destinations on the company’s ever-expanding Moments platform. These exciting travel opportunities range from destination tours and trips, to exclusive members-only events like the Keith Urban Graffiti U World Tour, VIP access to the Super Bowl and Coachella, as well as master classes with world- renowned chefs like Daniel Boulud.
