15 A As part of the Cross Egypt Challenge, both the Cairo Marriott and Marriott Mena House took part in this exciting event by having their own branded scooters for participants to use during their Cross Egypt journeys. number of the scooters involved in this initiative were fully branded with Cairo Marriott and Marriott Mena House logos positioned on premium front-and- center spots on these vehicles. During the month of October, from the 11 th to 20 th , these scooters were seen touring throughout not only Cairo and Alexandria, but also many other disparate locations across Egypt, as ambitious riders used them to discover the multitude of hidden gems and locations throughout Egypt’s cities. Some of these eager participants began their journey at the Cairo Marriott, staying for a few nights before moving to Alexandria where the challenge officially kicked off. The participants in the challenge began by driving towards Ismailia, followed by stops at key locations such as El Gouna, Luxor, Aswan and Minya before ending this adventurous excursion at the luxurious Marriott Mena House, Cairo, where the riders - who had by then earned a much-needed break - relaxed and enjoyed the captivating surroundings with the Great Pyramids of Giza as the backdrop. There, the riders also had the chance to mingle and socialize with one another after being welcomed by a team of hotel associates with drinks and treats in what they all found to have been an extraordinary stay at one of Cairo’s landmark hotels. The Cross Egypt Challenge is an international cross-country motorcycle and scooter rally aiming to promote tourism in Egypt, and is operating under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and the Egyptian Tourism Authority.
