32 Marriott International’s Impactful Serve 360 Campaign Inaugurates 2 nd Edition of Beit el Helm Awards Ceremony The Cairo Marriott Hotel, in cooperation with its flourishing partnerships with the Wataneya Society, MBC Hope and the Drsos Foundation, inaugurated the second successful edition of the ‘Beit El Helm’ awards ceremony. The ceremony was conducted under the jurisdiction of the Marriott International’s recently launched broader social impact and sustainability initiative, Serve 360. This much anticipated initiative is designed to foster business growth whilst balancing the needs of associates, customers, owners as well as the environment and communities. Under the Serve 360 program, which aims towards ‘Doing Good in Every Direction’, the Marriott International is embracing its role in meaningfully taking on our world’s most pressing social, environmental and economic issues. Serve 360 acknowledges and recognizes the Marriott International’s global responsibility and unique opportunity to be a force for good. The Serve 360 campaign is based on and guided by the Marriott’s 2025 Sustainability and Social Impact Goals, as well as U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, which both pledge to contribute to the creation of positive and sustainable impact in the communities we serve. It is focused on four key domains; Nurturing, Empowering, Sustaining and Welcoming. Consequently, the ‘Beit el Helm’ awards are bestowed upon the best institutional homes in Egypt, according to the National Quality Standards for Alternative Care. The ceremony took place in the Aida Ballroom of the Cairo Marriott, and in attendance was guest of honor, actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Donia Samir Ghanem, while being hosted by Dr. Ibrahim El Kerdany. This second edition of the awards ceremony saw six institutions from four different governorates being honored with the distinction. These winners were selected by jury members and community voting, the jury panel was comprised of; child and adolescent consultant psychiatrist Dr. Hala Hammad, A.U.C. psychology professor Dr. Heba Qotb, head of the department of architecture Dr. Sahar Atteya, co-founder and C.E.O. of the Food Banking Regional Network and E.F.B. Dr. Moez El Shohdi, physical medicine, disability and rehabilitation consultant in developing National Quality Standards for Alternative Care Dr. Abdelhamid Kabesh, Wataneya internationally certified Pearson Edexcel assessor Dr. Nahla El Nemr, whose presence at the event was highly valuable not only for her professional experience (as with all the other jury members), but also because she came with a distinctly beneficial perspective having been raised in an orphanage since the age of two.
