Marriott Egypt Hotels’ initiatives
throughout Global Customer
Appreciation Week gathered pace
with much-needed support for
the Egyptian Clothing Bank, and
their superlative work within the
community – a cause to which the
hotels are strongly committed.
The Cairo Marriott’s ‘Spirit to
Serve the Community’ is part of
a worldwide campaign, and bore
fruit locally in a visit to the Egyptian
Clothing Bank’s headquarters in
Mokattam. During the visit hotel
representatives along with those
of Marriott Egypt sister properties
were honored to donate 20,000
EGP for the organization to secure
200 blankets for distribution
among needy families in two Cairo
neighborhoods.
Marriott Hotels throughout Egypt
also donated clothes to the cause.
The ‘Spirit to Serve’ is an essential
part of the group’s philosophy to
put people first and always strive
to make a positive difference to the
communities in which they operate.

The Cairo Marriott Hotel once
again played a leading role in
‘Pinktober’ … October’s worldwide
campaign that aims to increase
awareness of breast cancer and
its complications.
As part of Marriott International’s
‘Spirit to Serve’ initiative, the
Cairo Marriott ‘went pink’ with the
accent on health and fitness.
The Aida Ballroom was the scene
for the hotel’s fifth annual zumba
fitness pink party, organized by
the Breast Cancer Foundation of
Egypt (BCFE). Over 800 women
participated and enjoyed being
taken through the moves by
the best local and international
zumba instructors who were
brought to the hotel for the event.
This ongoing partnership
between the Cairo Marriott Hotel
and the BCFE also saw the hotel
take part in the ‘Walk for the Cure’
marathon, which was held for
the third year at the Palm Hills
compound. More than 250 men,
women and children took part
and were joined by Dr Mohamed
Shaalan, Chairman of the BCFE,
and celebrities Boushra and
Tamer Hagras.
