16 MA R R I O T T I N T E R N AT I ON A L M arriott International’s annual Recommitment Week is a companywide event that seeks to recapture and reintegrate the core idea that all associates across all of Marriott Hotels Brand properties around the world, recommit to their brand’s ideals and ethics. Marriott Hotels Brand properties are the only ones across Marriott International’s extensive brand portfolio to participate in this pledge, which is now 4 years old. In 1957, Marriott International opened its first hotel, the Twin Bridge Motor Hotel, under the Marriott Hotels Brand. Ever since, the Marriott Hotels Brand is acknowledged as Marriott International’s “Iconic Brand” also referred to as its “Signature Brand.” Each year, Recommitment Week embodies a new theme under which the celebration is convened. This year’s theme was “Building Loyalty Through Brand Love.” Hotels under the brand-name Marriott were the first of Marriott International’s debut to the hospitality industry, and ever since, properties with its namesake have become one of the premier global leaders in hospitality services. Recommitment Week 2019 involved the organization of a special week of Standups which combined dialogue-exchange with the aid of slideshow presentations, group discussions, role-playing and team-building exercises, all of which were focused on driving home the unifying celebratory theme of “Building Loyalty Through Brand Love.” The week’s activities centered on exploring the topics; “Art of Hosting” and “Inventive Class” each of which was geared towards how to build guest loyalty and understanding what drives the perspectives on travel life, respectively. The first day was dedicated to “Building Loyalty for Marriott Hotels” and focused on the “Art of Hosting” which shared the importance of building loyalty through activating the brand’s “Art of Hosting” Recommitment Week 2019 Sees a Renewal of Vows in Honor of Customer Service and Guest Loyalty
