achievers to the rest of uswhowant
a little –or a lot-guidance. The
TEDx
Program isdesigned tohelpcommunities,
organizations and individuals to spark
conversationandconnection through local
TEDx
-likeexperiences.
TEDx
was created in the spirit of TED’s
mission, “ideasworth spreading.” It supports
independent organizerswhowant tocreate
aTED-likeevent in their owncommunity.
Since theCairoMarriott is afirmbeliever
in thevisionof TED,wepartneredupwith
TEDx
CairoWomen tohost theevent at the
palace’sAidaBallroom. Theeventwaspart
of our “Spirit toServe” initiatives tohelp
support our communityand in this case,
women inparticular.
The speecheswerepowerful andmoving,
sparking thecrowd’s interest and fueling
theirmotivationwith real inspiring stories.
Oneof the speecheswasgivenbyEgyptian
actressAminaKhalil,who is an inspiration
toyoungwomeneverywhere. Theevent
was constructedwith the ideaof inspiring
theworldandyounggirls topursue their
dreams andfight forwhat theywant. This
collaborationwas thebeginningof a long
partnershipbetween
CairoMarriott and
TEDx
